24 maggio EggsRemember the Tamagochi Craze like in our college years? Nearly everybody I knew then was carrying one of those egg thingy and nurturing it like a real pet or trying to kill it, including yours truly here. I came across the webpage today, and was thinking to myself, what the heck, these eggs dont need any nurturing, why not juz for the fun of it. SO, I have now 5 little eggy waiting to be hatch on the 5 of June. Hope they turn out to be some cute creatures and not some horrifying alien or dinasours.
22 maggio Toothache IITaking full advantage of the dental benefits available to me, I decided to pay the dentist a visit to do some spring cleaning to my teeth. I have been faithfully going to this particular dental clinic not particularly due to the dentist herself, but because I really dig the setting of the clinic. Comfy chairs, fake fishes swimming in an acquarium with a background music of light and easy to soothe the troubled soul. The dentist also had this really cool cloth poster of how to make strawberry jam pasted on top of the ceiling, such that when you are lying down the dentist chair, you will be distracted by the strawberries instead of the drill.
The lady dentist I usually saw was busy, so I went for her collegue instead, a foreign guy dentist. I innocently told him that I was here for a scaling session, but also I have been having some tingling and uncomfortable sensation for the past week. He started poking around with a flat object with a mini 'torch-light' attached and press a few buttons. I realised that it was a kinda "dentistry camera" that captured shots of my teeth. He pointed to the pic of my 3rd molar which was covered by whittish goo (I didn't have time to brush), and said, this is your tooth before I got rid of the food pieces. He turned to the next picture, and pointed at the same tooth, "This is after I washed away the food bit." To my utmost horrow, I found myself staring at a tooth which looked like it had caved in. The dentist went on to explain that the cavity had devour half of the outer layer, and what I was staring at apparently was the second layer of the tooth!
*Ugh* That was only the beginning of the nightmare. The dentist proceeded to "repair" my tooth by drilling it. He told me to raise my hands if the pain was unbearable. For the first 20 minutes, I could take the sensitivity feeling, after that I started feeling fidgity, and even worse, felt like I was in a torture scene is Alias. 30 minutes into the drilling, the dentist hit a nerve. I started waving my hands frantically. I would have screamed if not for the tools of torture hanging around my mouth.
*Phew* After 45 minutes of what seemed like eternity, I emerged from the room rubbing my sore tooth. I think I should start cutting down on the chocs and ice-cream. 18 maggio ToothacheSitting in front of the computer screen, happily typing away when I was struck with the first tingling sensation that grew into a 'orible toothache.
*Ouch*
Tried to distract me-self by reading some forwarded mail and chewing on my soggy bread.
*Ouch* *Ouch*
Distraction did not work, but I stumbled upon an inspiring article.
What is the biggest potential we can bring to work?
Our spiritual potential.
Our
When we fail to breathe spirit into work, we are unhappy doing the job. Driven by lesser motives like salary, bonus and other superficial benefits, we become slaves to external motivation. These things are finite and do not offer lasting inspiration and drive. It is when we serve our spirit that our motivation becomes internal and infinite; forever providing the fuel to drive us forward.
After a full day at work, what then is the biggest potential we can bring home? Same answer, spiritual potential. Love begins by taking care of the closest ones - the ones at home.
*Bah*
I should change my profesion to a sexy-salsa-instructress!!
*Ouch**Ouch**Ouch*
15 maggio The BULL is Coming!!![]() For those of you who enjoy the thrill of gambling, right now would be a good time to throw all your hard-earned money into the exciting world of stocks and warrants. Analysts and industry players are all anticipating the BULL to come charging in anytime soon. Hence, more and more investors are collecting stocks and holding it as such golden opportunities don't come very often.
For the professional investor, a detailed analysis of the prospective purchase should be researched thoroughly, stuff like PE ratio, candlestick charting and the whats-nots should be mugged before clicking the buy button. Then, one should get a very good feel of the daily news/reports/market sentiments etc. However, me being thoroughly disilusioned with life as a white collared individual, decided to throw all caution into the wind and dumped my $$ in the highest fluctuating volume at that point of time. For several days, the said counter grew steadily in digits, and I began to halucinate on what I could do with my gigantic fortune. Needless to say, when the said counter got SUSPENDED today due to abnorma-ly high trading for a month, I was promptly brough back to earth with a jolt.
14 maggio Happy Mumsie's DayAs today is mother's day, I would like to blog down my love-hate relationship with the most important lady in my life. My mum's profession is a piano teacher, and for as long as I remembered, I was practically born into the world of classical music. When I was a little child and prone to throwing tantrums and bawling, my mum told me that she would put me in a child's playpen and blasted classical music to the max volume to drown my crying while she continued on her housework.
It's no wonder I have a phobia for classical music when I grew up. One of my mum's greatest ambition was to form a family orchestra. After much hassle and heartache, she succeeded in pulling the whole troop together for a pre-practice session before a church performance.
Though I have never fully cultivated a pasionate love for music, I must say my mum has set a wonderful example to me in terms of persistence, discipline and diligence. While raising up 3 rowdy and extremely lazy kids, my mum not only managed to clinch a degree in music while working, she also passed her diploma in singing! Watch her in action...
She was a beauty in her youth. Too bad I didn't inherit some of her "photogenic-ty". One of the secrets to youth-ful skin, she shares is to carry an umbrella in hand everywhere she goes.
Recently, I found something we had in common...our love for luxury leather goods...though it cost a hole in my pocket, it was worthed it when you saw the huge smile on her face!
Though I dont explicitly express my love enough, I hold her close to my heart. Though I always act like I don't care, the truth is her opinion still matters to me a lot. Lurv ya mumsie!! 13 maggio Change
Everyone of us is bound to be a world-class champion in a particular field of endeavor. We are duty bound to find the field.
But doing the same things everyday cannot deliver new results. To change the results you are getting, you need to change what you are doing. You must transform the way you live your life.
Changing the way you live means changing how you think. Changing how you think means changing what you have come to believe or accept about life. This is very hard. So hard that even when you so desperately want to change, you prefer to hang on to the misery because it is familiar and it is comfortable.
When I read this short exerpt wriiten by Vijay Eswaran, a comment from my pal crossed my mind. He was responding to a decision I made recently as "fan zin". 12 maggio Wesak Day!!Happy Wesak Day Folks!! Though I don't celebrate the festival, I'm just plain happy it's another day where I can sleep in and just laze around. I woke up with a salsa hangover from the night before where a bunch of us crazy salsa addicts danced till the wee hours in the morning to the tune "Aisha" (Totally love this song even though I can't sing a word of it except for the chorus).
Anyway, as I was saying, I awoke mid-day with nothing to do, and while the boredom began to set in, a marvellous what-to-do-in-the-afternoon plan began to hatch in my head. What's th most divine and loveliest thing for a gurl to do on a hot, sweltering afternoon like that?
Ta-da...a visit to the hair saloon is a good start. As the shampoo starts to sink in and the shampoo gurl starts to give you a vigorous scalp massage, everything in my mind starts to fade away. Tommy (my fav stylist) gives some suggestions to which I nod away and allow him to take full control over my tresses. About 2 hours later, I emerge from the saloon, feeling fresh and gorgeous.
Next, I slide down few doors away to Colour Box, a trendy looking shop which specialises in manicure and pedicure. The technicians start snipping away the dead skin from my nails and rewards the poor legs with a warm and luxurious bubble bath. Total divine! I selected a shade of violet for the nail coating and promptly fell asleep while the specialist do her stuff.
:) I felt like a princess today with all those pampering!! I shall temporarily claim memory loss to the impending credit card bills...
